Curriculum Structure
Each school has arranged its courses and its teaching and learning processes, conform to the Basic Education Curriculum. There is a well-developed Pre-primary programme and the Primary and Secondary Grade Levels. Students are placed in their grades according to their readiness to learn, their ages and other factors.
1. Pre-primary Level:
The school has a special programme with a dedicated staff to prepare and develop children to enter and progress through the other grades.
There are three grades:
KG1 - Kindergarten 1
KG2 - Kindergarten 2
KG3 - Kindergarten 3
2. Primary Education Levels:
The school provides for the basic language and mathematical skills, communication and analysis skills as well as developing social skills, quality-of-life enrichment, and an enhanced appreciation of moral and ethical standards. These aims promote the school vision of intellectual, moral, spiritual, social, individual, cooperative and physical development of our children. There are six grades:
G1 - Grade 1
G2 - Grade 2
G3 - Grade 3
G4 - Grade 4
G5 - Grade 5
G6 - Grade 6
3. Secondary Education Level (lower or Grade 9):
Greater encouragement is given to students to further explore their own capabilities, interests, personalities and potential. Provided with the basic learning skills, students should be able to develop responsible values to themselves, their families, their communities and to society with a profound appreciation of Thai culture and traditions as well as a positive attitude to other people. There are three grades:
G7 - Grade 7
G8 - Grade 8
G9 - Grade 9
4. Secondary Education Level (upper or Grade 12):
Learning becomes more intensive and extensive as knowledge, experience and skills (including Information Technology and English Language) are directed toward future careers and tertiary education. There are three grades anticipated:
G10 - Grade 10
G11 - Grade 11
G12 - Grade 12
Core Curriculum and Use of English
The Basic Education Curriculum has outlined a core curriculum of 8 subjects to cover the 12 years required to complete the basic education. These are compulsory at all 12 grades of primary and secondary education. The 8 compulsory subjects are:
1. Thai Language
2. Mathematics
3. Science
4. Social Studies, Religion and Culture
5. Health and Physical Education
6. Arts
7. Career and Technology
8. Foreign Language
There is provision of additional subjects to be added and for student development activities (including charity, public-minded and volunteer activities, and guidance activities) at all levels.
Use of English
As a private bilingual school, the language of instruction in Primary Levels is English in the following subjects:
1. Mathematics
2. Science
3. English
4. Health and Physical Education
5. Social Studies, Religion and Culture
English may be used to instruct in the following 2 subjects:
1. Career and Technology
2. Arts
In Secondary Levels, English is the language of instruction in the following 7 subjects:
1. Mathematics
2. Science
3. English
4. Career and Technology
5. Social Studies, Religion and Culture
English may be used to instruct in the following 2 subjects:
6. Health and Physical Education
7. Arts
Part of Social Studies (Geography) and another Part of Career and Technology (Computer) may also be taught in English. Thus students have the benefit of learning all the core subjects (as well as the additional ones) required by the Thai Education Ministry, with highly-qualified Thai and Foreign teachers. They also have the advantage of learning in a language (English) which is today the most widely-used language of international communication.
